What was the highlight of White House Beach Resort

Very enjoyable.

The gardens were very beautiful and we were surrounded with lovely greenery. The breakfast was very good and the staff extremely friendly. The bed was ok .the position to local restaurants and food marts was extremely convenient and the beach was very close to our room.

The bathroom was not good. The shower was in a deep bath and was difficult to get into. It was also just a hand held shower. As I am an older person it was very awkward. The staff did not pick us up from the airport because of some mixup with names and we had to ring them to come and get us.Otherwise - we enjoyed our stay.

Location is perfect.

Location is perfect. Beach, rooms, area, and swimmingpool are kept in clean condition. No litter. People are realy helpful and friendly. Food and beds are good.

We had a faulty toilet that did not work. They tried to fix it in the eventing but this did not work.

Overrated

The beach was okay

Very outdated rooms and some had basic issues with facilities such as faulty pipes leading to flooding in the bathroom. I had difficulty being provided a new room when it was clear there were already plenty of vacant and nicer rooms.

Beach front comfort

The garden setting was beautiful, meant the rooms were mostly kept off-set from the beach and the road, but a super short walk to each. Good room size, divided in to 3 sections - entrance, main room and bathroom so we had lots of space. Location on Choeng Mon beach is good, and handy for accessing the rest of the island either by bike or songthaew (taxis are expensive!) Room was clean and well maintained, water provided and A/C. Happy hour cocktails were good and we had one lunch there which was tasty.

Only minor things, but the A/C unit was really loud, but needed to be on to be cool enough to sleep which meant our first nights sleep wasn’t great. We got used to it after a while. We didn’t have breakfast included, but from what we saw we think it’s better value to have breakfast elsewhere

Needs an investment of capital.

The character of the hotel is fabulous, the staff warm, professional and friendly, the food great and the 'situation', the prime location on the Chaweng Mon beachfront. I would have rated the hotel 2* based on my very first impression, but I have to say it grew on me. A splash of cash at least 5 years overdue.

It needs refurbishment.....long overdue. Lots of the hotel is tired and jaded. Tv's are from the '80s and have 4 working channels. The bathroom is somewhat unmanageable as a wet room. The shower is simply the nozzle above/ beside the toilet and the whirlpool bath wasn't worth the risk (It looked it may have carried the plague). Every shower, therefore, rendered the entire floor awash, all the way up to the washbasin and mirror. The loungers on the beach are, frankly, requiring to be burned as firewood. The "double" bed was/were two singles pushed together.

Breakfast was quite bad, not really a cozy restaurant, no bar at night. Rooms are outdated.

There are much nicer places to stay in Koh Samui - book elsewhere.

The resort was situated on the beach. The garden that ran throughout the resort was nice.

Like other travellers have said, the rooms are very dated. The spa in my room was unusable and was covered in rust with duct tape holding it together in places. There were no working phones connecting the rooms with reception and the Wi-Fi was temperamental at best. The rooms have no natural sunlight and were very dark and gloomy. My friend's room had terrible plumbing issues and at one point there was dirty water springing from a burst pipe which flooded the bathroom floor. The staff said someone would look into it the following day and that there were no free rooms to move her to in the meantime. Only after she said she would take a refund and book another hotel did another room in the hotel miraculously seem to materialise. This hotel is falling apart and the poor staff are clearly used to having to deal with guests complaining about the state of the place. It must be very difficult for the staff having to deal with constant complaints for things that they really have no control over.

Stayed here twenry years ago and its still the same...non fussy decent hotel with manys plus points

The staff are its biggest asset, the location right on the beach is what everyone wants, the food is better than all nearby restaurants and can be authentic Thai or western Thai..., I tried all the restaurants around and you'd be wasting your time looking about unless its a western splash out in cheaweng or fisherman way... easy from airport, nice beach, shallow water...

The bed was very hard but no unusual in TH although it would make a difference...a few more TV channels perhaps but that's not a priority in such a lovely location.

better stairs arrangement but the staff extremely help with our heavy luggage. Didn't like smokers from other tourist. unavoidable.

The staff would bring a nice teapot with a plate of fruit or biscuits every afternoon. This was a very nice touch. The staff are very friendly and happy to help. The hotel grounds are quite picturesque.

The location and the hotel itself are beautiful. The fact that there is beach access and a bar on the beach made it easy to spend our spare time relaxing and having a drink. The staff is extremely kind and helpful. Breakfast is generous and good.

It was a very luxury hotel in the 80s, now decadent... it has its character and it's fascinating (we liked the grand Budapest hotel's like atmosfere), very chip, nice staff, beautiful not crowded beach in front of the structure, quite good breackfast, beautiful garden

The location was perfect. The staff were wonderful. The rooms could do with a little updating, especially the bathrooms. Hard to get a decent shower as the water changed from hot to cold every few seconds.
